APX ROX MY SOX!!!!!
I was at Gary's all day Sat and I was able to convince mary ann to let me use her car.
Suddenly Gary got a call for his glasses and I knew that he wanted them, so, so badly.
I knew he would give his right arm for them. I am like that myself. He decided not to go.
As he left, we did too. Mom wasnt easy to find that day, our phone is out. She showed up just as he was leaving. She wasnt used to driving Mary ann's car and it was like being with a teen driver.( not that I would know anyways :) I had given Gary directions in hopes that he would be able to make it, but I could tell from his voice, I wasnt going to see him. It was just wishful thinkin. We made it up to green bay real easy and we were there by 6 pm. We got something to eat and went to the cup at about 7. The show wasnt open and didnt start till 9.
There were over 50 people already out there...and I thought I was nuts.
We got inside at 9:20 and Karl was nowhere in sight.(of course....)
Finally about 930 they decided to start.
Karl was first, I recognized him instantly "J" was behind him and behind "J" was "Keith" and "Moose" and "Hubauer". I realised "Moose" wasnt "Moose" "J" was too short and "Keith" was too fat! Hubauer was Hubauer...
That's what I thought... they said hello and Immedieatly went into the set. I still thought that they were imposters....I dint know what to think I was laughing my head off!
It was J and it was keith, later that night I realised that it was the shirt that he was wearing...
But moose wasnt there, that I KNEW. Moose never wears hats and this dude had one...it was Hubauer's friend from 10.10 Jimmy. He was really kewl!
I wish I would have brought my professional camera with me....oh well...
I got some amazing shots in of them doing the new and used set.
trivea: New and Used was released that day a year ago and it began and ended in the same place. How kewl!
During the break, I knew Gary wouldnt be coming so I wrote a "sarah" sign. Sarah is an infamous fan who never got to see them for years and everyone brought Karl signs telling him that they wished she was there. I got to be a part of the mayhem...it was fun!
In writing the "sarah" sign I want Gary to a) show up b) become as infamous as Sarah!
Gotta bug Karl of someone! :) JK
I saw Karl briefly during the break at the sound booth. Calmly when I heard his voice, I turned around and smiled and said "Hi Karl" he said "oh Hi angel' and everyone around me audibly gasped. They couldnt believe that he came down off the stage and here I just turn around and go "oh hi there' and like WOW YOU KNOW HIM???!!!! I AM SO JEALOUS!!!! LMAO! :)
So between then and the end of the show there was only one thing I was doing and that was enjoying the show of course!!! :) I still do these days, even tho I have seen them 10 different times(one of these days I am going to run the merch table at LiFest or something....)
I got some excellent pictures in and I wish I had taken my vivitar camera....
Then at the end, I wanted to talk to him and he let me real quick before he went downstairs and as he left I moved his hair out of his eyes because it was in the way, but he told a real quick story about how at the airport one day, some strange lady did that, he was in line and in a hurry and he was like "lady...you realise I am in a hurry dont you?" yeah *he he *
So then for the millionth time, me and mom were looking at the door and it happened to be the emergency exit and we were, like the last in line(not counting shaleigh and the Eklofs)
I didnt mind. I held up the "miss you Gary" sign and had UMOM take a pic of it.
later I want to put it up on apologetix.com. I was able to talk to Karl and the boys for quite a while
Just as we were able to talk to Karl, his wife called and she had a fall and was in the hospital again. Karl sadly said "One of these days I am going to come home and she's gonna be dead"
we kept talking and moving along. I got autographs for Gary. J. missed him.
we talked to J. for a while mum asked " How long are you going to be doing this??" J. said "well Mick Jagger and them are still doing it and someone needs to spoof them!"
For the first time in the 10 times I saw them, I did not cry, I missed them, and was glad to see them, but I didnt cry.
Hopefully 11 comes.
I know now, as I finish this post, that I will not be making it to lifest, I need a new bike desperately.
I will be seeing Eman on the 11th of March before my birthday and I will hopefully be seeing Karl at Paperfest.
